After 9 years of DSL, yesterday I finally switched to a cable modem from Comcast. Besides a hinky coax cable, the self-install went flawlessly and I didn’t have to install any of the stuff from the install CD.
I used to download about 180kb/second with Verizon DSL for $39.00. Now I get on anywhere from 700-1,500 kb/second for four dollars more a month.
My only question is, why didn’t I do this earlier?
Next, it’s time to get rid of the land line. Between Skype and my mobile, no reason for it except for sporadic faxes, which I can take care of down the street at Mailboxes, Etc.
Speeding up and simplifying life, it’s all good.
